Port of NEOM, Saudi Arabia

The Port of NEOM, located in Oxagon – NEOM’s reimagined industrial city – is emerging as a next-generation maritime and logistics hub in northwest Saudi Arabia .

The Port of NEOM is a critical enabler to the development underway across NEOM, meeting the rising volumes of imported construction materials. The port is expanding handling capabilities for general cargo,
containers, bulk, and Ro-Ro, as well as supporting warehousing and logistics services. Looking ahead, the port will play a crucial role in enabling seamless import and export of goods in support of Oxagon’s advanced and clean manufacturing tenants and the broader population growth across NEOM. The port will
service the northwest of the Saudi Arabia and opens a new intermodal corridor to the east, becoming an economic engine that supports Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification and maritime trade ambitions.

Development

At Port of NEOM, work is underway on Terminal 1, a state-of-the-art deepwater container terminal with 1,200 metres of quay, 19 metres water depth and ten ZPMC ship-to-shore cranes capable of handling the largest container vessels plying the East-West trade lane using the Suez Canal. Once fully transformed, the port will operate on 100% renewable energy by self-generation, with solar and wind energy at source. Terminal 2, with a reserved capacity of up to 10 million TEU, will be built in line with market demand.

The Port of NEOM container ports will be fully automated and digitalised, with cargo being seamlessly transferred to advanced logistics centres and rail delivery terminals as part of NEOM’s integrated supply chain.

The Port Community System will play a critical role in the parallel flow of real-time information and data.
